Beach Evenings

Being based on the Poole area, we have a great beach to play on. We have a number of outdoor sets and every week (usually Thursdays) during the summer we have a beach evening, weather permitting. As well as playing volleyball, some members occassionally bring a BBQ bucket and cook some food.

Now it is officially Autumn, of course, all our volleyball is played indoors until it gets a bit warmer.

Traditionally, we start on the beach on the first Bank Holiday Monday in May and continue until the last Thursday of August, but April was so hot in 2011 that we might start then in 2012.

Tournaments

The main beach tournament in this area that we enter is the Sandbanks Beach Festival, details are on the tournaments page.

Some Spike Monkeys are helping to organise a pairs tournament which takes place on Boscombe beach every Tuesday from 6pm onwards.
